About

Hello. I'm Kim, a freelance journalist and copywriter, content designer, wannabe novelist, narrowboater and travel obsessive.

I trained as a journalist at Goldsmiths, completing an MA in 2008, and began my career working as an online writer and social media manager at Time Out and later Immediate Media. I became deputy editor at Yahoo Lifestyle (UK) in 2012 and editor of student lifestyle site Hexjam in 2015.

In 2016 I decided to try freelance life and now focus on the topics I love most - travel, health & wellbeing, entertainment and parenting. I've written for Cosmopolitan, Elle, The Sun, The Times, Grazia, Stylist, Refinery29 and before it perished, The Debrief.

With my digital hat on I've been a day editor at The Sun's and Cosmopolitan's Snapchat Discover channels, a UX copywriter on a top secret new app, and I continue to regularly work as a digital producer for Sotheby's marketing and editorial department.

I'm used to liaising with designers and collaborating with other content creators and integrated teams, generating ideas, creating briefs, interrogating client requests and presenting ideas and WIP to clients. I also have experience managing people and projects, and ensuring work done is correctly documented.

As a writer I'm more Macbook than Moleskine, and pride myself on being digitally savvy and a primary adopter of new tech.

But paper novels are my true love, and like many a good journo, I'm trying to write that damn novel. It's been about five years now.
